Varrick Douglas is a public safety expert, law enforcement executive, and organizational strategist with more than three decades of experience in policing, crime prevention, emergency management, and operational leadership. Throughout his career, Varrick Douglas has held progressively senior leadership roles, developing expertise in crime analysis, public safety operations, resource deployment, and strategic decision-making.
Varrick Douglas began his law enforcement career with the Chicago Police Department in 1991. Over nearly 30 years, he advanced through the ranks, ultimately retiring as an executive officer. During his tenure, he worked closely with senior leadership to oversee daily operations across multiple police districts, manage personnel and resources, and support the development and implementation of crime reduction strategies.
Mr. Douglas is currently the commander of the Strategic Operations Center at the University of Chicago Police Department. Among other responsibilities, he provides direct oversight of activities associated with the emergency communication and dispatch section. He also identifies and deploys best practices for campus and medical center law enforcement.
